#54: Star Wars Celebration IV track jacket

This is one of my favorite jackets. It is nice and comfortable. I bought it at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles back in 2006 (instead of a lightsaber…but I eventually got one of those). The drawing of the AT-AT Driver helmet on the front is very cool. Jennifer thinks the helmet has a flower on it, but it is actually the Imperial symbol. It has turned out to be the envy of many collectors. I have had a few people tell me they have kicked themselves for not getting one.

#55: Luke Skywalker on the Muppet Show

Mark Hamill guest starred on the Muppet show back in 1980. Actually, both Mark Hamill AND Luke Skywalker guest starred, along with C-3P0, R2-D2 and Chewbacca. Luke and the droids crashed the show looking for their friend Chewbacca. Kermit the Frog wanted them to stay and do some musical numbers, but they refused. Instead, Luke suggested “his cousin” Mark Hamill do the song and dance instead. There was a lot of running off stage and changing costumes. It was a lot of fun when I saw it back in the day. I have only found bits and pieces on the internet, but I did find the final dance number. The very end foreshadows the future of Star Wars and Disney long before it was even a thought.

#56: Bib Fortuna

This guy cracks me up. He is awful at his job. As Jabba the Hut’s aid, he has ONE job: keep Luke Skywalker out. And he fails big time at that. Poor weak minded Bib. This is my favorite shot of him, when Han is released from carbonite. It makes me laugh every time

Attention Fankind: the official Brian’s Comics viewing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be on Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. at Boulevard Cinemas 14 here in Petaluma! That is in theater #2, (non 3-D). Tickets are already on sale at the theater box office, so get them while you can!

#57: “Darth Vader” in Back to the Future

In honor of today being Back to the Future Day, I have chosen the extended version of the “Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan” scene from the first Back to the Future movie. This is really kinda a salute to Star Wars pop culture references at large, be it from E.T. or Strange Brew. Happy Back to the Future Day!!!!

Great Scott, Fankind!!!  Happy Back to the Future Day!!!  And just in time (get it?) comes the new BACK TO THE FUTURE #1 from IDW.  It tells the untold stories of how Doc Brown and Marty met, plus Doc’s involvement in a famous government project.  If that’s not enough 80’s sci-fi nostalgia, then pick up TRANCERS #1 from Action Lab Comics. Based on the cult movie, it follows decorated Police Trooper Jack Deth who travels from the year 2247 to 1985 Los Angles on a one-way mission to capture a fugitive with the power to transform ordinary people into psychotic killing machines.

I mailed away for the good ol’ Admiral “before you can buy him in stores!” He’s a good one, except one hand was useless for an action figure. But, at least he was good for discovering traps.

#60: The new Force Awakens poster!!!

It is exactly 2 months until STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS hits theaters!!! I am taking a little detour on the countdown today because they just released the new movie poster, and it it is pretty spectacular. In case you are trying to go into the movie spoiler-free (which to you I say good luck, because the internet is making it impossible) I have included the link to the poster and not the image itself. Also on this webpage is information about the Star Wars 6 movie marathon, when we will see a new trailer (TOMORROW!!!) and other cool things movie theaters will be doing in 2 months.
